Letter to Mdm Jean Tan
Dear Mdm Jean Tan,
How are you? I hope you are fine. I heard that you are teaching at FMSS now. My purpose of writing to you is to tell you about the changes I’ve experienced since school reopened.
There are many changes that I’ve experienced since school started. Many of which, I’m not particularly very happy about. First of all, we were all asked to iron-on a new badge on our uniform because last year we had a forum talk and someone complained about the collar badge and said that it breaks easily and is very expensive. And so, the Principal deiced to change the collar badge into an iron-on one. To me, I feel that the iron-on badge is very ugly and that the collar badge looks so much better. For me, I’ve been wearing the same collar badge for 3 full years straight everyday and it has not broken once. Neither did I purchase any new one to replace any badge due to my carelessness. I feel that this is not a necessary change to our school uniform. Anyways, I’m already in my last year in this school. So what’s the point? But again, what can I do anyways? It’s the school rules after all.
Secondly, I’m finally Secondary Four! So I’m sitting in the gallery instead of the hall. It does give me a sense of seniority sitting there. At first, we were placed at the fifth level classrooms instead of the sixth. I wasn’t very happy about that. After a week or so, we were finally moved up. Thanks to Mrs Tan. That felt great. What’s the point of being Secondary Four if you’re not on the sixth level? So kudos to that!
The school is being repainted now. Honestly, I feel that the new colours are very ugly. We should really get back the old colours we had. They look so much better compared to this.
By the way, Mrs Tan is my Chemistry teacher now. Kudos to that too! She’s the best teacher I’ve ever had throughout my four years. Thank God for that! My science can be saved! Though I’m not really sure about my other subjects. I guess I just have to depend on myself since some teachers aren’t really that good to begin with.
Though I still have plenty to say, I think I will stop here for now. I would like to know about the changes you’ve experienced ever since 2008 started.
Cassandra.
